The Whistle Stop Festival would like to thank everyone involved in making the 23rd annual Whistle Stop Festival a great success. The weather held out, and attendance exceeded our expectations. This Irondale tradition would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of the Irondale city employees. All city departments worked seamlessly and professionally to make this event happen. Special thanks to Mayor Tommy Joe Alexander for his assistance on coordinating the city personnel with the Festival staff. Thank you to Councilman Craig Sanderson for bringing everyone to the table making it possible for the festival to stay in its traditional home in the Whistle Stop District of Irondale.
Thank you to all of our corporate sponsors without whom this festival cannot take place. Local Irondale businesses primarily fund the Whistle Stop Festival, and we proudly display their names on promotional banners during the month of September.
Thank you to the Irondale residents who have supported the festival for 23 years. The South Side residents deserve extra recognition for their patience and kindness. Every year their front yards play host to vendors and guests coming to our city to see the best we have to offer.
Thank you to the volunteers and the committee members for a job well done. Through their efforts, the Festival ran smoothly without drama.
Thank you to the officers of the Festival, Robert Saunders and Linda Baucher-Crews. They work year round behind the scenes making sure that the Festival continues to grow and showcase our city as one of the finest in the State.
